“Trapstar London clothing and lifestyle brand has collaborated with Hitman Absolution to create a limited edition capsule collection. The collection drops on November the 20th 2012 in conjunction with the launch of the latest game in the Hitman series.” – Mikey Trapstar

This video by John Ford is pretty dope in terms of the concept and cinematography by Joe Paton. It’s really doing nothing for the clothes because all I can make out are a composition of black t-shirt, jacket, a panel hat and kids with underwater guns. The latter of which has the only amount of detail present. So thats great news for the Hitman series.

Not to digress, it is a positive look that Trapstar as a brand are growing and evolving with such collaborations. Thy very much represent an illustrated and largely monochromatic graphic designed aesthetic, yet the brand manages to grow from strength to strength. This is due to the creative direction of Mikey Trapstar. Who ensures simplicity and the knowledge that catering to their audience with an iconic range of tees, hoodies and hats is where it’s at.

All in all they are not breaking any boundaries with their designs and merchandise. What they do have over any other brand is longevity and consistency. They have survived when other brands have ceased to exist and are very much positioned as the premier UK streetwear label. There is a huge emphasis on trans-atlantic celebrity endorsement. Which obviously works very well and more power to Trapstar for it. It’ll be interesting to see how they will be positioned in years to come. For now though they run UK streetwear by default and are doing a decent job of it.
