‘Super Woman’ explores themes of identity and perceptions of women. Individuals from a wide range of backgrounds talk about an inspiring woman in their life, their answers form part of the collective video response which was originally projected onto the walls of Tank two at the Tate Modern Tanks. Each story represents a facet, a quirk, trait or virtue that together becomes a whole.
The installation combines each individual experience to form a collective sentiment describing a universal reflection of women we can all relate to. When collated these recollections become a blueprint of wisdom, told by the people that the Super Woman has inspired.
Big up Loren & Teo + everyone who took part in the video including Sarah Keeling and James Gardner.
