Everyone loves a bit of Fresh Prince of Bell Air *hums the intro tune* and as far as fashion goes its one of my favourite depictions of the late 80’s early 90’s fashion. I was going to write a post about Hilary or Mr’s Banks but thought that’d be toooo predictable, instead I want to highlight MR. Carlton Banks, who I conveniently names Carlton Skanks (the video explains).
Carlton was the originator of any ethnic person to rock Preppy chic, prior to Fresh Prince it was only the likes of Brady Bunch or the kids in Scooby Doo that dressed preppy chic. Although Carlton was generally the laughing stock of the show its funny how he’s fashion sense is timeless. Lets look over his style and skanks with this lovely video and some pics from my mate google.
