In a rare challenge to National Geographic / The Discovery Channel, here is a Science & Nature post on Grrrrrrn. La Boca pointed me on to this – its a fish with a transparent head! Like a character from a Miyazaki cartoon ain’t it? Apparently the “barreleye” fish (Macropinna microstoma) uses their see-through dome to SEE THROUGH by ROTATING THEIR EYES up into their head. When they are too spooned out I’m guessing, (Flowie’s eyes do that too).
By the way, those big green orbs? THOSE are the eyes. Too nutty.
