Consequence has been making big moves recently with the release of his album. His videos also totally crack me up. It’s gonna be a good year for hip hop with lots of young MC’s coming through. Many have been thrown into the spotlight due to affiliation and hype.
There is Max B, Kid Cudi (who is apparently retiring after his debut album comes out), Drake, B.O.B, Charles Hamilton, Serius Jones (killer freestyle MC who tore a new arse hole for every competitor on the fight klub circuit) and Big Sean. Some of these cats are internet rappers, so it remains to be seen how their music will come across when they go mainstream. Check them out and make your own opinion.
No doubt some will become household names in no time (remember Soulja-boy, who was totally gimmicky and wack) and some won’t make it past next Christmas intact. All in all it is good news for the hip hop enthusiast which I’ve totally become again thanks to a renewed weed smoking habit and a thirst for violence.
