Now, I wont pretend to know everything about Art Spiegelman although he illustrated one of the best graphic novels (or if you’re a massive kid like me ‘comic books’) ever. Spieglmans ‘Maus’ is a story about his family’s escape from Nazi Germany and the effects it had on his father many years afterwards. If you haven’t read it yet your only excuse would be that if you cant actually read, and this highlights yet more problems you have. Anyway, Spiegelman’s ‘Maus’ is seriously bashy.
Spiegelman has since published many sketchbooks but it will be difficult for any of his new works to eclipse the significance of ‘Maus’. I wouldn’t go as far as saying this is determent to him but regardless his sketches and sense of humor are still very current. Spiegelman has had and is constantly having collections of his works published in both still and moving image format and here is a the latest. ‘Be a nose’
